Advert 41 T his conference is in response to requests for a similar event in the North to the successful dementia conference we held in London last year. The aim is to share expertise and experience in order to bring both spiritual and practical help to people whose lives have been impacted by dementia, or wish to be in an informed position to help others, themselves. Keynote speaker is Professor James M Grier, Th. D., distinguished professor of philosophical theology, Grand Rapids, USA; author, preacher, teacher and conference speaker. Among his special interests are medical ethics and ministry in a post- modern culture. Other speakers: Janet Jacob is a specialist in the care of people with dementia. She is a psychogeriatric nurse and former home manager with Pilgrim Homes. Now she takes seminars and gives talks in churches, conferences and care homes. Roger Hitchings is a theologian and pastor, writer and trustee of Pilgrim Homes. A former Director of Age Concern in Birmingham, he once ran the largest day unit for dementia sufferers in the UK.
