as a result we continue to look for opportunities to upgrade our accommodation; for example, we have managed to provide some additional en- suite facilities at Tunbridge Wells and Wellsborough this year. The refurbishment of bathrooms has featured significantly this year with such work being carried out at Chippenham, Haslemere, Tunbridge Wells and Wantage, quite often with the bathroom being converted for use with a walk- in shower. Whilst some works like the major redecoration at Tunbridge Wells are obvious, other work behind the scenes may not be quite as visible. This year we have had new boilers installed at Wantage and large water tanks replaced at Wellsborough. In addition, the homes at Brighton and Great Finborough have both had major works carried out in order to fully renew their catering kitchens. In fact the Brighton home, which is our oldest, has been in the thick of it this year as ongoing rewiring has been taking place. In Proverbs 3: 19 it says " By wisdom the Lord laid the earth's foundation, by His understanding He set the heavens in place". As we continue to look at our existing properties and plan for the future we seek the Lord's wisdom and understanding. Annual Report 200922 Our Purpose Pilgrim Homes exists to meet the needs of older, Protestant Christians who subscribe to our doctrinal basis. Prayerfully seeking God, we currently look to achieve this purpose by: 1 Providing accommodation, and care in a residential setting, 2 Providing housing, support and other services to enable an independent lifestyle to be maintained, 3 Ensuring that beneficiaries have every opportunity to pursue their Christian life, 4 Constantly reassessing the services we provide to meet changing needs, 5 Committing ourselves to the training and development of all our employees to enable them to fulfil their roles, 6 Encouraging spiritual support and valuing the contribution of our supporters.
